Hygiene inspectors spot fishing boats, docks

Itwas said by the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality AssuranceDepartment (NAFIQAD), which cited the findings of a group of EUinspectors who visited the Vietnamese agencies last year.

Thedepartment, however, admitted that the European inspectors foundshortcomings related to hygienic conditions at pre-processingfacilities, including finding boats, ports and fisheries.

NAFIQADhas asked provincial department of agriculture and rural development tocontinue working to boost awareness of food safety regulations amongthe owners of fishing fleets, the managers of fishing ports, theoperators of fish-breeding facilities, and purchasing agents.

Agricultural quality assurance branches need to intensify theirinspections of hygienic conditions at these pre-processing facilities,the department said.

It also asked businesses that processseafood for export to use materials verified by municipal andprovincial agricultural quality assurance branches.-VNA

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has outlined three scenarios for 2027–2030.
