Lam Dong (VNA) - More than 10 tonnes of sweetmeat without original and hygiene-related certificates have been destroyed in Da Lat.
The items were sweetened dried fruit packed in sacks with Chinese printed stamps, which had a foul odour and appeared decayed.
The owner of the food items is Nguyen Van Toan from HCM City.
On January 10, the economic police of Lam Dong discovered this amount of goods at house No 26 on Ngo Thi Sy Street in Da Lat city.
Toan said he rented the house as a store to keep products imported from China, which were to be sold in Da Lat city for Tet.
When the police checked the store, Toan was unable to show any papers relating to the food items. The goods were, therefore, destroyed according to regulations.-VNA
