Lam Dong steps up oversight to curb IUU fishing

As of early January 2026, the province had 8,210 registered fishing vessels, with more than 90% holding valid fishing licences, according to the department. A total of 8,115 vessels, or 98.76%, have been updated in the National Population Database, while 1,773 out of 1,941 vessels measuring 15 metres or longer have been granted food safety certificates, accounting for 91.34%.

Four records set as Vietnam hosts first-ever world tea fest 2025

The World Tea Fest 2025, Vietnam’s first international-scale tea festival, features four remarkable records: a mass tea-brewing performance by 1,111 artisans; the preservation of a 100-year-old tea factory; the participation of beauty queens from 80 countries; and the display of 1,000 ancient tea trees, each several centuries old.

Lam Dong promotes tourism, service products for Halal market

During the trip, the delegation will survey destinations in Da Lat and Phan Thiet to identify tourism products aligned with Halal standards. The programme also aims to promote Lam Dong’s cultural identity and signature tourism offerings to international partners, such as the Datala Waterfall, specialty coffee, Po Sah Inu Tower, the Ancient Fishing Village Fish Sauce Museum, and the "Fisherman Show – Legend of the Fishing Village.”

Lam Dong works hard on fishing vessel registration, inspection

As of October 23, 7,255 out of 8,398 fishing vessels measuring six metres or longer in Lam Dong province still hold valid fishing licences. Meanwhile, 3,212 out of 3,957 vessels remain validly registered. In addition, 311 fishing boats have been proposed by local authorities for deregistration.
