New Delhi (VNA) – Professor Faisal Ahmed from India’s FORE School of Management has voiced his optimism about the second summit between US President Donald Trump and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un which takes place in Hanoi on February 27-28.

He told Vietnam News Agency’s correspondents in New Delhi that although breakthroughs are not expected for the second meeting following the first in Singapore, the two sides will outline a detailed roadmap for the denuclearisation on the Korean Peninsula.

Faisal Ahmed said as the DPRK is advancing towards industrialisation progress and seeking foreign investments, a possible outcome of the summit is an agreement on a roadmap for bilateral economic development and investment.

Additionally, the Hanoi summit’s outcome will contribute to easing tension between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in particular and in the region in general.

As for Vietnam, the Indian professor said that the Southeast Asian country wins big from hosting the DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam, both in economic benefits and the nation’s prestige in the international arena, like Singapore did last year.

The event will promote Vietnam’s images as a key factor in the Pacific-Asia’s security, he said.-VNA
