Indonesia arrests three over suicide bomb plot

Indonesia’s police on December 20 reported that three people have been arrested over a suspected suicide bomb attack at an undisclosed location near the country’s Java island.

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s police on December 20 reported that threepeople have been arrested over a suspected suicide bomb attack at an undisclosedlocation near the country’s Java island.

Accordingto Martinus Sitompul, a spokesman of the national police, two men were arrestedin the Central Java city of Solo on December 18, while a woman was caught onDecember 15 in Purworejo, also in Central java.

Thesuspects are linked to a group that was arrested earlier for planning an attackat the changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, thespokesman added.

Indonesian police are currently interrogating 14 suspects related tothe planned Jakarta bombing and the plot outside Java.

Indonesia has tightened security at this time of year, followingattacks in previous years during Christmas and New Year time.-VNA
