Indonesia, Australia strengthen cooperation to facilitate economic recovery

At the Indonesia-Australia Economic, Trade and Investment Ministers’ Meeting, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the two countries' governments agreed on strengthening cooperation to facilitate economic recovery as well as optimising the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).

Jakarta (VNA) – At the Indonesia-Australia Economic, Trade and Investment Ministers’ Meeting, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the two countries' governments agreed on strengthening cooperation to facilitate economic recovery as well as optimising the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).

The agreement enables the two countries to deepen sustainable trade and investment cooperation while improving their role in changing global values to achieve a better future. At the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to an open multilateral trading system based on rules agreed in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and consented to support reforms that serve the interests of all WTO members.

Both sides also agreed and realised the importance role of infrastructure investment in accelerating sustainable and inclusive economic recovery as one of the priorities of G20 countries. Cooperation should also be enhanced on issues important to the region's economic future, including climate change, emissions reduction, investment, and technology./.
