Jakarta (VNA) – The Indonesian Government will continue stepping up four cooperation programmes to develop infrastructure in 2022 as the COVID-19 pandemic is taking toll on infrastructure development.
Speaking at the B20-G20 dialogue with global corporate executives on July 5, Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the country will continue discussing with parties about the programmes, which will promote sustainable investment in infrastructure, develop a legal framework and capital markets to improve investment environment, upgrade digital infrastructure and consider relevant regulations, and improve G20’s common efforts to ensure that all economies could recover and invest for a better future together.
Earlier, Indonesia announced strategies in its role as G20 Chair for 2022. The G20 Chairmanship also allows Indonesia to pool international support for its priority programmes, including digitalisation, human resources development, women and youth empowerment, vaccine availability and health care system to mitigate pandemic risks in the future./.
