Indonesia restores national data centre after cyber attack

The Ministry of Investment or Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has assured that the issuance of business identification numbers (NIB) via the Online Single Submission (OSS) remains unaffected by a cyber attack on the temporary national data center (PDNS) 2, which was detected on June 17.

Jakarta (VNA) - The Ministry of Investment or Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has assured that the issuance of business identification numbers (NIB) via the Online Single Submission (OSS) remains unaffected by a cyber attack on the temporary national data center (PDNS) 2, which was detected on June 17.

BKPM special staff member Tina Talisa stated that OSS services are operating normally, but the task force remains vigilant to ensure no future disruptions.

According to official data, as of the end of June, the ransomware attack, identified as Brain Cipher Ransomware, had directly impacted 30 ministries/agencies, 15 provinces, 148 districts, and 48 cities. Additionally, 43 agencies were unaffected due to their data being stored as backups./.
