Jakarta (VNA) – Four people were killed and 10 others left missing after a boat sinking in a river on the Indonesian part of Borneo island on December 14.
According to head of the local search and rescue office Slamet Riyadi the boat was carrying 53 people on the Kapuas river when it hit a log and sank. Three were children among among the missing.
Boats have been deployed to the site of the accident, but murky water, currents and floating logs hampered rescue efforts, said Slamet Riyadi.-VNA
