The Hue Central Hospital in central Thua Thien Hue province has saved the life of a three-month-old girl suffering from a rare heart condition, after she was hospitalised on February 14.
The baby, weighing only 3kg, was transferred from a health centre in neighbouring Quang Tri province's mountainous Dakrong district.
The baby was hospitalised after she had difficulty in breathing and was vomiting frequently, and her body became darker in colour.
Doctors at the hospital diagnosed that she had a rare heart condition that required urgent surgery to place the arteries in the right positions.
By March 11, 10 days into intensive care, the girl had recovered and could be fed milk, according to the baby's mother Nguyen Thi Than.-VNA
