The concert themed “The six centuries of guitar music” kicked off the Saigon International Guitar Festival 2014 on November 12, telling audiences back to the development history of guitar.
The opening night performance was performed by Guitarists Harris Becker, Director of Guitar Studies at Long Island University in New York and Paul Cesarczyk, Head of Guitar Department of the College Music at Mahidol University in Thailand.
During the five-day festival, audiences have a chance to enjoy a number of excellent music concerts which features works composed in different period ranging from the Renaissance to now.
On this occasion, many young guitar talents are also introduced to Vietnamese music lovers through shows called “Romantique Guitar Music” and “The 20th Century and Contemporary Guitar Music”.
A workshop introducing musical instruments will also be taken place during the event.-VNA
