Hanoi (VNA) – Various documents and images spotlighting the struggle of the Hanoi people and army against the French colonists from the end of the 19th century to 1954 are being showcased at a 3D virtual exhibition recently opened in the capital city.

The event, organised by the Hoan Kiem district People’s Committee and National Archives Centre I, is part of the activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the capital city’s Liberation Day (October 10).

Themed “Hoi dong bao Thu do” (Dear the fellow citizens of the capital city), it is divided into three sections, with many materials unveiled to the public for the first time. The first section called "Hanoi in flame" introduces documents and images from the early stages of the French invasion of Hanoi, the second "Hanoi Uprising" features the revolutionary struggles in Hanoi from 1930 to 1954, and the third "Hanoi Triumphant Return" displays images and documents of the liberation day.

The organisers hope that through digital technology, the event will provide the public insights into the history of Hanoi - a city with a thousand years of civilisation, heroism, and peace.

The exhibition is available at https://archives.org.vn/hoidongbaothudo/ or http://hoankiem.hanoi.gov.vn/hoidongbaothudo/./.
