International warrant issued for female drug trafficker

The Ministry of Public Security on July 16 issued an international arrest warrant for Vu Hoang Oanh, born in 1957 in the northern city of Hai Phong, on the charge of illegal drug trafficking.

HCM City (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Security on July 16 issued aninternational arrest warrant for Vu Hoang Oanh, born in 1957 in the northerncity of Hai Phong, on the charge of illegal drug trafficking.

Oanh, also known as Oanh “Ha”, allegedly led a transnationaldrug trafficking ring from Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City.

She rented a casino venue in Cambodia located one kilometerfrom the border with Vietnam and organised gambling activities.

The suspect hired Tran Van Cuong and Vu Quang Trung to helpher sell the drugs in Ho Chi Minh City.

She also ordered her accomplices to buy or rent numerousapartments in the city to store drugs.

On May 24, the police arrested Oanh’s accomplices and seized103,000 ecstasy pills, 39 packs of heroin and some 30kg of synthetic drugs.-VNA

Public order crime drops 22.55% in first half
