More than 200 businesses and businesspeople in Vietnam will be given awards for their outstanding achievements in the international economic integration process.
The award ceremony, the second of its kind in Vietnam, will take place on July 25 in Hanoi.
The event is part of the 15th anniversary of Vietnam ’s admission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and in anticipation of the Vietnam-ASEAN Year 2010.
Addressing the award launching ceremony in Hanoi on May 13, vice president of the selection council Nguyen Quoc Thang said the award is to honour businesses with numerous achievements in international economic integration.
“It not only contributes to affirming sustainable development of businesses and businesspeople, but also strengthens and creates solid foundation for the value of Vietnamese brands during the country’s international economic integration,” Thang stressed.
Themed “Businesses integrate into ASEAN”, this year’s award will honour firms and businesspeople involving in implementation of the ASEAN free trade area as well as free trade agreements between ASEAN and its partners – Japan, Australia, India, China, the Republic of Korea and New Zealand, according to Thang.
There will be 120 awards for firms and 100 others for businessmen and business executives.
The International Economic Integration Award ceremony is held every two years and the first took place in 2008./.
