The race included an 1.8km swim, a 62km cycle ride and a 12km run.
Jointly held by the Laguna Lang Co Resort and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the event was broadcast live on international television channels, Fox and Star Sports.
The competition follows the success of a similar event held in Laguna Phuket, Thailand.
It creates an opportunity to promote sea travel in the province and country.-VNA
