Hanoi (VNA) – The Investment Support Forumfor Overseas Vietnamese (Invesfov) was launched at a ceremony in Hanoi on January14.

Established by the Association for Liaison withOverseas Vietnamese, the forum is set to materialise Conclusion No. 12-KL/TWdated August 12, 2021 of the Politburo on overseas Vietnamese affairs in thenew context, attract more resources from Vietnamese abroad and create optimalconditions for them to contribute more to national development.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu, whois also Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, laudedthe association for its initiative and efforts to establish the forum.

The forum helps Vietnamese expats increase and expandinvestments in the homeland, meeting the huge demand for capital to implementmajor projects and programmes, he said.

Hieu noted his hope that the association will continueto coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries andagencies to remove difficulties facing Vietnamese expats when they return home.

According to the Deputy Minister, 5.3 millionVietnamese are living and studying in 130 countries and territories worldwide./.
