The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People’s Committeeof the south-central province of Ninh Thuan organised a ceremony on March 15 blockingthe flow and accumulating water for the Tan My irrigation system in Phuoc Hoacommune, Bac Ai district.

Minister ofAgriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong asked relevant units toperform the task as best as possible from this year in order to fight drought.

The project will alsobecome a tourist site, he suggested, asking Ninh Thuan to adopt innovationsto optimise the project to serve socio-economic development in the locality andthe region at large.

He said theproject will be an effective, multi-dimensional irrigation management model inthe face of climate change.

With a total costof more than 5.9 trillion VND (256.22 million USD), the Tan My irrigationsystem consists of five dams on Song Cai Lake and is designed to provide waterdirectly to 7,480 ha of arable land and provide water to another system thatcovers an additional 12,800 ha.

It will alsosupply water to several lakes and create a reservoir for power generation.

Ninh Thuan isoften hit by natural disasters, especially drought, which have seriouslyaffected local residents as well as production and business in the provinceover recent years./.

Under the current examination format, candidates are required to complete the mandatory Literature and Mathematics tests, along with a combined test comprising two subjects selected from a range of options, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, History, Geography, Technology-Industry, Technology-Agriculture, and Economics-Law. Students may also choose to take a foreign language different from the one studied at school.
