Hanoi (VNA) - The book on theory and practice of socialism in Vietnam by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong has been translated into Italian, with the new version made public at a ceremony held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy on May 21.

The Vietnamese version of the book, titled “Mot so van de ly luan va thuc tien ve chu nghia xa hoi va con duong di len chu nghia xa hoi o Viet Nam” (roughly translated as “Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam”), was launched on the occasion of the 92nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - 2022).

As one of the highly influential publications of the Party leader, it gathers his 29 outstanding articles and speeches, aiming to help cadres, Party members, and people gain an insight into socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam so as to promote consensus in society and bring into play the great national solidarity to achieve the strategic goals set by the Party, late President Ho Chi Minh, and the people.

The English, French, Russian, Chinese, Lao, Spanish and Japanese versions of the book were released last year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Duong Hai Hung said the book is expected to contribute to enhancing the good friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Stefano Bonilauri, Director of Anteo Edizioni Publishing House, noted that the book gives an insight into socialism and the path towards socialism in Vietnam, saying the Party chief has cleared up basic questions regarding the foundation of socialism in the Southeast Asian nation.

Therefore, the book is significant to researchers in Vietnam, and anyone interested in modern variations of socialism and how to apply them in the real world, he continued. Bonilauri told the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) that the book is the foundation for understanding the political and social development process of contemporary Vietnam, marking a milestone in political theory publications.

On this occasion, the publishing house presented the Italian version to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the union of presidents of Vietnamese people's associations in Italy, and Vietnamese Student Association in the country./.
