Italy is Vietnam’s fourth largest trade partner in the European Union, while the latter is the former’s largest trader in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The European Union – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA)will open up opportunities for Italian firms, especially- small and medium-sized ones, heard recent bilateral economic and trade promotion seminars held in Parma and Piacenza cities, the Italian northern region of Emilia – Romagna.
The upcoming official visit to Vietnam by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte from June 5-6 is expected to foster the Vietnam-Italy strategic partnership in various fields, ranging from politics, diplomacy, defence-security to economics, trade, investment, education and culture.
Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities will create favourable conditions for the Italian Consulate General to implement cooperative activities, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Italy strategic partnership, a municipal official has affirmed.
