Da Nang (VNA) – Japan Coast GuardTraining Vessel KOJIMA with 87 officers and crew members on board docked at theDa Nang International Port on July 25 to start a four-day visit to Vietnam.

The visit is taking place at a time when the relationsbetween Vietnam and Japan in general and the bilateral defence ties inparticular are continuously reinforced.

It is one of the specific activities toimplement the agreements reached by leaders of the two nations’ Parties, Statesand defence ministries, aiming to further deepen the bilateral defencepartnership.

During their stay in the central coastal city ofDa Nang, the Japanese delegation led by Colonel, Captain Hironnobu Tonozaki, willpay a courtesy visit to authorities of the municipal People’s Committee, theHigh Command of Military Zone 5, the Marine Police Zone 2, and the navigationsearch and rescue centre. 

A sport exchange event will also be held toincrease mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Japanese soldiers andsailors.-VNA

On March 14, 1988, engineering soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Navy stood resolutely on Gac Ma with a unwavering commitment to protecting the national flag amid the vast sea. The 64 soldiers, including nine from Da Nang and one from Quang Nam, laid down their lives.
