Japan donates fire-fighting equipment to Hanoi

The Japanese government will provide fire-fighting support to Hanoi through the provision of used fire trucks.

An agreement to this effect was signed by Japanese Ambassador YasuakiTanizaki and Colonel Nguyen Duc Nghi, Deputy Head of Hanoi PoliceAgency, at a ceremony in Hanoi on October 10.

The support was included in a project using non-refundable Japanesegovernment aid to help Vietnam reduce damages caused by fires.

At the ceremony, Colonel Nghi thanked the Japanese diplomat andgovernment for their assistance, saying the fire trucks would soon beused in Vietnam./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
