Japan funds two transport projects in Hanoi

The Japanese government will provide loans worth 447 million USD in total for the implementation of two transport projects in the capital city of Hanoi .

Agreements to this effect weresigned between the Finance Ministry and the Japan InternationalCooperation Agency (JICA) in Hanoi on December 24.

Theloans, which belong to the first phase of the 2013 fiscal year, will beused to build a section of the city’s belt road No.3 and terminal T2 ofthe Noi Bai international airport.

2013 marks the 21st consecutive year the Japanese government grants the officialdevelopment assistance (ODA) to Vietnam with a total committed capitalof up to 21 billion USD.

Japanese-funded projects havemade considerable contributions to Vietnam ’s socio-economicdevelopment and its industrialisation process.-VNA
