The Japanese government has pledged over 180.000 USD in non-refundable aid to help build two primary schools in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

An agreement to this effect was signed on June 22 in Hanoi , under which Hiep Hoa primary school in Vinh Bao district and Tien Minh primary school in Tien Lang district will be built at a cost of 95.000 USD and 88.000 USD, respectively.

Located in the two coastal communes that have suffered from frequent floods, the schools, which were built more than 40 years ago, have been seriously damaged and cannot accommodate the increasing number of students.

Addressing the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba expressed his belief that the projects would bring happiness to the school’s staff and students, contributing to boosting solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries./.
