The Japanese Government has provided 60.456 million JPY in non-refundable aid to central Thua Thien Hue province for a natural calamity adaptation project (phase II).
The funding is channelled through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The second phase of the project is implemented from now until July 2016, focusing on natural disaster risk management with the community’s involvement, improvement of awareness about the issue, and enhancement of preventive measures.
Thua Thien Hue province’s People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Truong Luu said that JICA has helped the province carry out a project to improve the central provinces’ natural disaster adaptation capacity in the 2009-2012 period.-VNA
