Meeting with Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee NguyenHuu Tin on August 20, Tomokatsu said his visit is to strengthen two-waycooperation in climate change, waste management and enforcement of thelaw on environment.

In the open-minded and keen spirit, HCMCity and Japan’s Environment Ministry will surely set up interactionsvia the exchange of information and experience, he said in fullconfidence.

Tin informed his guest that the city is working tobetter manage the environment, especially its waste treatment byshifting away from landfill to incineration and microbiologicaldisposal.

He expressed hope for continued assistance intechnology transfer from the Japanese ministry and localities in thecoming time.

In the past, Osaka helped the city respond toclimate change and deal with organic waste to generate electricity inBinh Dien market, the host said.-VNA
