Hanoi (VNA) - Japanese artists will perform Yosakoi - a unique styleof dance in Japan - at the walking area around Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi on April21, as part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary ofVietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.
The information was released at a meeting in Hanoi on April19 between Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu andhead of the Organising Board of the Fukuro Festival of Japan Iwata Jinichi.
Iwata Jinichi said that performing in Hanoi is a greathonour for the Japanese troupe.
He expressed his hope that through this performance, thefriendship between Tokyo and Hanoi and between Japan and Vietnam at large will betightened.
Suu recalled the close relationship between Japan andVietnam and their capital cities, which has been enhanced through theorganisation of numerous festivals, including the Japanese cherry blossomfestival at Ly Thai To Square, Hoan Kiem lake in late March.
He said that Hanoians are always willing to welcome foreigntourists, including those from Japan.
He showed his hope that the Yosakoi performance will bringjoy for and attract the participation of visitors to the walking area, thus helpingconsolidate the bilateral relationship.-VNA
