Present at the ceremony were JapaneseMP Kaneko; Asaduma Sinnichi, Minister at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, andrepresentatives of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo regionand Bac Ninh province.
A representative of theassociation handed over and introduced techniques to plant 200 cherry trees.
Asaduma Sinnichi, Minister at theJapanese Embassy in Vietnam, said the cherry project began in 2012 and sincethen the trees have been grown in many Vietnamese provinces and cities.
He expressed his belief that thecherry trees will become a bridge connecting the Japanese and Vietnamese people.
The plantation of cherry treeswill contributed to popularising Japan’s images, culture and people to Bac Ninhresidents and enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the twonations, he added.-VNA
