A Japanese-style mathematical training centre will open in southern Binh Duong province to serve Japanese investors in the area and cater for local industrial development demand.
The agreement to establish the centre, which will be named Terakoya, was signed on August 30 by the Binh Duong-based Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC), the Eastern International University and Japan’s Yokohama International Centre (YIC).
The centre will offer high quality education and training not only in math but also in the Japanese language in an advanced learning environment based on Japanese teaching methods.
Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Huynh Van Nhi said Binh Duong’s high economic growth rate and position in a key southern economic zone means it is eager to ensure its human resources are of high enough quality to help the country in its industrialisation and modernisation process.
The establishment of the centre will bolster the Japanese language skills of workers in the region, attracting additional Japanese investment projects, he added.
Japan has more than 170 projects worth over 3.2 billion USD in Binh Duong, constituting the the largest slice (18 percent) of the province’s total foreign direct investment.-VNA
