Three Japanese c oastaldefence ships with a total crew of 750 people aboard docked at Da NangPort on October 19, beginning their friendship visit to the centralcity.
An official welcome ceremony for the navaldelegation, led by Admiral Fuiyuki Kitagawa, was held in Tien Sa port inthe presence of representatives from the Defence Ministry, the VietnamPeople’s Naval Armed Service, the Naval High Command of Zone 3, and themunicipal People’s Committee, among others.
Japanese attendeesincluded Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada, Colonel Manabu Ozawa,Japanese military attaché, and representatives of the Japanese BusinessAssociation in Da Nang.
During the three-day stay in the city(October 19–21), the ship captains will pay courtesy visits to leadersof the municipal People’s Committee, the Military Zone 5’s High Command,and the Navy Zone 3’s High Command.
Officers and crewmemberswill join in cultural and sports exchange activities and tour places ofinterest in Da Nang and its surrounding areas.-VNA
