Journalists discuss American War

Nearly 100 Vietnamese and foreigners will participate in a journalism and press workshop featuring their activities during the anti-American war in Vietnam on April 24 at the National Information Centre.

The workshop is in a series of three similar events. The first, titled“Press on War Topic: Theory and Practice”, will take place at theJournalism Institute the same day.

The “Experienceof Using Various Genres of Press during the Revolutionary War inVietnam” workshop is scheduled for April 25 at the Military Guess House.

The series will gather foreign speakers, includingJuergen Gimm, Andreas Enzmingder, and Thomas Bauer from the Universityof Vienna, and Naser Miftari and Remzie Shahini Hoxhaj from theUniversity of Kosovo.

The workshop at the NationalInformation Centre will host 20 veteran journalists from the VietnamNews Agency, Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People's Army) and Tien Phong (Vanguard)newspapers. Tran Mai Huong, Chu Chi Thanh, Pham Hoat and Duong DucQuang are scheduled to speak about their experience working asjournalists and living through the war.

Forty war photos,taken by domestic and foreign journalists, will also be on display atthe National Information Centre. The workshop will start at 2pm on April24 at 5 Ly Thuong Kiet Street.-VNA

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year

The province's delegation of National Assembly deputies, in coordination with relevant agencies, presented 600 gifts across 11 communes, including 100 in Tap Son commune and 50 in each of the others. The programme, worth 300 million VND (11,300 USD), was funded by Agribank’s Vinh Long branch.
