Kiep Bac Temple: A place to commemorate national hero Tran Quoc Tuan

Kiep Bac Temple worships the hero of Tran Quoc Tuan, also known as the Grand Commander Hưng Đạo and his whole family.

The temple is located in the middle of Rong Mountain’s valley in Hung Dao Commune, Chi Linh Town, the northern province of Hai Duong.

It was the place where Tran Quoc Tuan established a military base, storing food and training soldiers in the resistance wars against the Mongol invasions in the 13th century.

In the 14th century, the temple was constructed at the place. There are annual festivals to commemorate the hero of the Vietnamese people, who made great contributions to the country and the people had worshiped him as a saint.

The monument was ranked as a special national historical monument and Kiep Bac Festival is the nation’s intangible cultural heritage./.
