Kitesurfers from 12 countries perform in Ninh Thuan tournament

The Ninh Thuan Open Kitesurfing Tournament 2024 took place at My Hoa beach in Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan from December 30-31.

Ninh Thuan (VNA) – The Ninh Thuan Open Kitesurfing Tournament 2024 took place at My Hoa beach in Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan from December 30-31.

The tournament attracted over 60 kitesurfers from Vietnam and 12 countries around the world, including the US, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Australia, the UK, Finland, India, and France. They competed in the “All Tricks Count” format for men’s single and women’s single events.

Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that with nice sunny weather and ideal wind conditions, the kitesurfers showcased their daring wave-riding techniques, providing spectators and tourists with stunning aerial performances.

Hassik Mohamed, a rider from Morocco, said that with the advantages of winds and waves, Ninh Thuan is a fantastic place for kitesurfing.

Within the framework of the tournament, the Ninh Thuan Tourism Association and the marine sports association of the RoK’s Jeju province signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in sports exchange and tourism development.

With its ideal natural conditions, My Hoa beach has hosted various domestic and international kitesurfing competitions such as the Ninh Chu Kitesurfing Festival 2019, the International Kitesurfing Festival 2022, and the Ninh Thuan - Binh Thuan Open Kitesurfing Championship 2023./.
