Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said the Vietnamese Party and State always attach special importance to and give top priority to reinforcing and strengthening relations with Laos.
During his reception for visiting Lord Mayor of Laos’ Vientiane capital Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune in Hanoi on October 24, Phuc stated that Vietnam’s ministries, sectors and localities are working hard to effectively implement agreements reached between the two countries.
Expressing his delight at the growing development of the all-around ties between Hanoi and Vientiane, the Deputy PM said he expects Hanoi’s development and integration experience will be helpful to its Lao partner in the future.
Phuc also congratulated the Lao official on his new position as Vientiane Party Committee Secretary and Lord Mayor, hoping that Khoutphaythoune will contribute to further deepening the Vietnam-Laos special relationship.
For his part, the Vientiane leader spoke highly of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and people’s support for Laos during its national defence in the past as well as its current socio-economic development.
He said he wishes that Vietnam will continue to assist Laos in personnel training and the two sides will enhance their links in many fields, so as to realise their set collaboration objectives.
That same day, Hanoi Party Committee Secretary Pham Quang Nghi also had a working session with the Lao guest, during which the two sides reviewed the recent multifaceted cooperation between the two cities and the two nations in general.
Khoutphaythoune said his delegation wants to learn from Hanoi’s experience in Party building in businesses, farm produce consumption and issues related to real estate.
He also asked Hanoi’s authorities to provide more support for Vientiane in various fields, especially in management.-VNA
