The Lao Phatthana (Lao development) daily on April 21 carried an article praising the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) for its role and contributions to Vietnam ’s national construction.

The article, entitled “The 60-year growth and development of the Vietnam Journalists Association” wrote that over that time, the VJA obtained great achievements, contributing to national liberation, construction and development in Vietnam .

In the development of Vietnam ’s media, the VJA played an important role, using “pens” as weapons and has always been a driving force behind national construction and defence in every period. VJA membership has constantly grown, both in number and quality.

The article highlighted the operations and the achievements of Vietnam ’s press, stressing that the establishment of the VJA on April 21, 1950 was an important milestone in the Vietnamese people’s history of struggle. Since the establishment of the VJA, the Vietnamese press has strengthened the national liberation revolutionary movements in the past as well as the cause of national construction and defence at present.

The article affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches importance to the operation and role of the press./.
