Vientiane Mai (New Vientiane) newspaper, a major daily in Lao, on April 27 ran an article that praises Vietnam’s late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 120 th birthday (May 19).
Titled “Uncle Ho – Vietnam’s hero, great leader, Laos’s beloved friend”, author Mekdalin Sisengchanh highlights Uncle Ho’s life and his career, stressing that the late President always paid attention to building great national unity along with close ties with Indochinese countries and nation worldwide, especially Lao people.
The article repeats Ho Chi Minh’s motto that unity is the most important factor to build common strength, get over difficulties and triumph over invaders. “Unity, unity, great unity - success, success, great success” is an invaluable advice for not only Vietnamese people but also for Lao people, it says.
It also quotes several Uncle Ho’s poems on Vietnam-Laos solidarity and praises the late President as not only a great leader, an outstanding politician, an educator well versed in humanism and democracy but also a man of culture and a talented poet.
