Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh and his entourage left Hanoi on September 17, successfully wrapping up their official visit to Vietnam.
During his stay in Vietnam , PM Bouasone Bouphavanh held talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, at which the two PMs reviewed outcomes of the implementation of agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders.
Host and guest shared their views and reached a consensus on measures to tighten the two nations’ traditional ties, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation in all areas.
Lao PM also met with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Nguyen Minh Triet and Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.
At these events, Vietnamese leaders expressed their pleasure at the increasing development of the Vietnam-Lao comprehensive cooperation.
They expressed their hopes that the two governments would continue to work with each other to guide ministries, agencies and localities in the implementation of agreements and map out measures to raise the quality of education and human resource training, increase two-way trade turnovers as well as the efficiency of investment projects while speeding up the upgrading and planting of markers along the shared border.
PM Bouasone Bouphavanh said the Party, State and people of Laos will try their best to partner with Vietnam to foster traditional relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.
He laid wreaths and paid tribute to both President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and fallen soldiers in the northern province of Tuyen Quang./.
