Lao President Choummaly Sayasone has said that the special relations between Vietnam and Laos will never change in any circumstance.

Sayasone, who is also General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, made the affirmation at a farewell meeting on November 27 with the outgoing Vietnamese ambassador Ta Minh Chau in Vientiane .

Sharing the same with the ambassador on the current comprehensive development and further deepening in the bilateral relation, Choummaly s aid that the special bilateral relation is indispensable in the two countries’ history, adding the wishes that the two sides will do their utmost to make the relation everlasting.

The Lao top leader also spoke highly of the role of the embassy in general and the ambassador during his tenure in particular in fostering the two countries’ relations.

For his part, ambassador Chau expressed his thanks to Lao leaders, ministries, agencies and localities for support his diplomatic mission in fulfilling the assigned tasks.

The ambassador also expressed his delight at the fine development in the special solidarity and friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two sides in the past years and being deepened in all realms of politics, economy, culture-education and defence-security.

Vietnam is currently among three biggest foreign investors in Laos with nearly 5 billion USD injected in over 400 projects.

Specially, in 2012, Vietnam and Laos have joined hands to organise a series of significant activities to mark the landmark events and the Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Friendship Year 2012, which created echo in the two countries’ socio-economic life.-VNA
