Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and a high-ranking delegation of his cabinet on Feb. 25 visited the central province of Binh Dinh as part of his four-day visit to Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a senior delegation of the Vietnamese government and leaders of Binh Dinh worked with the Lao guest.
Hosts and guests highlighted the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two nations.
The Lao PM praised the socio-economic development in Vietnam in general and in Binh Dinh in particular. He expressed thanks to the Vietnamese government and Binh Dinh province for valuable assistance to Laos.
He added that experiences of Vietnam and Binh Dinh in socio-economic development and poverty reduction will be very useful for Laos .
On this occasion, the Binh Dinh People’s Committee presented Lao provinces of Attapeu and Luang Namtha with 15,000 USD each.
Binh Dinh province has many investment projects in Laos with total capital of 40 million USD.
The province has also helped train Lao technicians, managers and students.
The same day, PM Thongsing Thammavong met with the managing board and students of the Quy Nhon University, where a number of Lao students are studying.
The Lao PM also visited the Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical Company and the Quy Nhon port in the province.-VNA
