Lao Vice President pledges to foster ties with Vietnam

Bounhang Vorachith, who is also Politburo memberand Standing member of the Central Committee’s Secretariat of the LaoPeople’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), made the statement at his meetingin Hanoi on July 7 with Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and Standingmember of the Central Committee’s Secretariat of the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV).

The Lao official informed his guest on the outcomes of his talks with Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

The two officials exchanged notes on the organisation of Partycongresses at all levels in their respective countries in preparationfor the 10th National Congress of the LPRP and the 12th NationalCongress of the CPV.

They asserted the two countries will do their utmost to bolster the bilateral time-honoured friendship and cooperation.

During his official visit to Vietnam from July 6-8, the Lao VicePresident also had a working session with Secretary of the Party CentralCommittee and head of the Party Central Committee’s OrganisationCommission To Huy Rua, during which the two sides discussed Partybuilding work.

On July 7, Bounhang Vorachithreceived a delegation of the national liaison committee for Vietnamesemilitary experts and voluntary soldiers who used to work in Laos.-VNA

Top leader’s visits opening new phase of deeper, more effective ties with India, Sri Lanka: FM

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung described the visits as particularly important and historic, taking place at a meaningful moment as Vietnam and India mark the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and just one month after the top leader of Vietnam assumed his new position. For Sri Lanka, this was the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese leader since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
