A delegation from the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association (LVFA) led by its Chairman Phankham Viphavan on August 27 paid a visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos to congratulate Vietnam on the 68th anniversary of the country’s National Day (September 2).
Based on reached achievements, the two countries need to promote comprehensive and effective cooperation, especially in human resources development that plays a crucial role in national development, said Viphavan, who is a politburo member of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and Minister of Education and Sports.
The Lao Party, State and people, and the LVFA in particular always show deep gratitude to the great and efficient assistance that Vietnamese people have given over the past years, he said, voicing his desire to strengthen and expand the two countries’ special relations.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung announced several of Vietnam’s outstanding achievements over the past time, adding that Vietnam-Laos ties will be developed in a deeper and more effective manner for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
In another activity to mark the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recently held a meeting that gathered overseas Vietnamese living and working in the host country.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ta Duy Chinh reviewed the country’s socio-economic development progress over the past years.
He was also pleased to inform the participants about the positive macroeconomic signals in Vietnam’s production and exports, and the country’s external activities.-VNA
