Laos is making preliminary preparations for the ASEAN-Tourism Forum scheduled from January 17 to 24 in 2013, according to the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.
Senior officials from 10 member countries and 400 international clients are expected to participate at the forum. They will propose measures to further accelerate regional cooperation and stimulate sustainable tourism development, said Bosengkham Vongdara, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism.
At the second of the annual forums held by Laos, ASEAN tourism ministers and vice ministers are scheduled to meet partners from China, Japan, India and the Republic of Korea to tighten cooperative ties.
Additional seminars will provide ASEAN travel agencies, aviation and hotel-restaurant associations an opportunity to seek cooperation./.VNA
