Vientiane (VNA) – Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith held talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin within the framework of his recent working visit to Russia, the Lao media reported on May 13.
According to the Laos News Agency KPL, the two sides highly valued the outcomes of the Laos-Russia strategic partnership which has been deepened and fruitful in the spheres of politics, security, and education, among others.
They agreed to further promote cooperation in economy, trade, investment, science – techniques, tourism, energy, and scientific research.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.
President Sisoulith congratulated Putin on his re-election as President of Russia, and comprehensive achievements that the Russian government and people have achieved in recent times.
On the occasion, the Lao leader also met with Chairperson of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev, and attended a parade to mark the 79th anniversary of the Victory Day of the Soviet people in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War, as a guest of honour, the KPL said./.
