Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly passed the law amending andsupplementing some articles of the Law on Government Organisation and the Lawon Local Administration Organisation on November 22 with 89.23 percentapproval.

Thelaw will take effect as from July 1, 2020.

Thedraft law amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on GovernmentOrganisation and the Law on Local Administration Organisation was tabled fordiscussion at a working session of the legislature on October 25.

Lawmakersexpressed their approval for adjustments in the draft law, and contributedopinions in order to better the document.

Mostof them supported regulations on reducing the number of vice chairpersons ofthe district-level People’s Council and increasing vice chairpersons of thePeople’s Committee in a second-tier commune.

Also on November22, legislators debated the draft law amending and supplementing some articlesof the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, and the Law on Dykes,which was the topic of group discussions that took place earlier./.
