Hanoi (VNA) – Lawmakers discussed anumber of draft laws during a plenary session in Hanoi on June 1 presided overby National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. 


Under the direction of NA Vice ChairmanUong Chu Luu in the morning, they debated the draft laws on amendments andsupplements to several articles of the Law on Chemicals, the Law onElectricity, the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy, the Law on Tobacco  Harm Prevention, the Law on Food Safety, theLaw on Pharmaceuticals, the Law on Notary, the Child Law, the Investment Law,the Public Investment Law, the Law on Science and Technology, the Law onConstruction, and the Law on Urban Planning.

Twenty deputies raised opinions, most ofthem basically agreed with reports on reviewing the draft laws.

Minister of Planning and Investment NguyenChi Dung clarified several issues raised by deputies.

Under the direction of NA Vice Chairman DoBa Ty in the afternoon, NA heard a report on the draft Law on Animal Husbandry deliveredby Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong.

Head of the NA’s Committee on Science,Technology and Environment Phan Xuan Dung presented a report reviewing thedraft Law on Animal Husbandry.

Later, Dung delivered a report on acquiringfeedback on the Law on Survey and Mapping.

Fourteen lawmakers shared opinions on basicprinciples of survey and mapping activities, design of administrative andunderground works maps, the database on national geographical space, businessrequirements for survey and mapping services.

Minister of Natural Resources andEnvironment Tran Hong Ha provided further information about several issues ofinterest.

As scheduled on June 4, the NA will listento a report on the outcomes of dealing with suggestions by constituents sent tothe fourth session and conduct question-and-answer sessions, which will be livebroadcast nationwide.-VNA

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
