– Legislators have been discussing bills on education and cyber security at the 5th session of the 14th National Assembly in Hanoi on May 29 morning.

Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha presented the draft law amending and supplementing some articles in the Law on Education, while Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Phan Thanh Binh delivered a report verifying the bill.

After that, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Defence and Security Vo Trong Viet is scheduled to present a report on revision of the draft Law on Cyber Security, which includes seven chapters and 47 articles.

In the afternoon, lawmakers will discuss in groups the draft Law on Marine Police and the draft revised Law on Amnesty.

The Law on Marine Police aims to institutionalise the Party’s policies and guidelines and regulations relating to the Constitution 2013 on enhancing the country’s defence-security strength and creating a legal foundation for the operation of marine police forces.

The bill comprises eight chapters and 49 articles, stipulating the role, position, function, operational principles, and coordination activities for marine police.

Adopted at the second session of the 12th legislature, the Law on Amnesty came into force on March 1, 2008. 

The draft revised Law on Amnesty consists of six chapters and 39 articles, stipulating principles of implementation, State policies on amnesty, and behaviours prohibited in the conduct of amnesty.-VNA
