Hanoi (VNA) - National Assembly (NA) deputies proposed a number of measures to promote the economic growth at their discussions on November 3 as part of the ongoing 13th NA’s 10th sitting.
They shared the view on the significant socio-economic achievements the nation has gained over the past five years, saying that they lay firm foundation for the country in the international integration.
Nguyen Thi Kim Be, a deputy from the Mekong River Delta province of Kien Giang said the outstanding socio-economic development in 2015 amid the global and regional uncertainty has proven the effectiveness of the Government’s measures.
Meanwhile, deputy Tran Du Lich of Ho Chi Minh City highlighted the achievements in stabilizing macro-economic and controlling inflation, reflected in strong recovery of the economy since the second quarter of 2013 and a surge in export.
The improvement in the legal framework, such as the revised Law on Investment, and the revised Law on Enterprises has created a favourable business climate, Lich said.
Agreeing with the Government’s growth targets of 6.5 percent -7 percent in 2016, the lawmaker stressed the need for new impetus to realise the goals.
The expert recommended a number of measures, including better implementation of monetary policies, further reduction of bank interest rate, and balancing revenues and spending, among others.
He also called for a NA resolution dealing exclusively with addressing bad debts.
Also at the session, Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien addressed deputies’ questions related to their responsibilities.-VNA
