Leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) have visited and sent floral greetings to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of the 90th Vietnam Revolution Press Day (June 21, 1925-2015).

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan sent bouquets to the VNA.

Meanwhile, during his visit to the VNA, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Party Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications, said after 70 years of operation, the VNA has fulfilled its role as the Party and State’s strategic media body.

VNA news and information have served as important sources for the media system in the country as well as researchers, he stated.

At the same time, Politburo member and VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan lauded efforts of the agency in popularising policies and directions of the Party and State to the public, acting as a bridge connecting the Party, State and the people through over 60 publications in 9 foreign languages and 12 ethnic minority languages.

He also praised the VNA’s activeness in boosting international cooperation as well as providing support to news agencies of Laos , Cambodia and Cuba .

VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed that the agency will continue exerting efforts in the role of a State news agency, serving as a strategic and trustworthy media agency of the Party and State, thus contributing to the building and development of the country.

Earlier, Le Thanh Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Nguyen The Thao, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee also paid visits to the VNA. They recognised the achievements that the agency has made over the past years, deserving its position as the national news agency and one of the top public media agencies in Vietnam .

A Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Thuong visited and convey greetings to VNA Representative Office in the Southern Region. Meanwhile, leaders of the central province of Nghe An also extended greetings to VNA representative office in Nghe An.

On the occasion, nearly 90 delegations and representatives from ministries, central agencies and localities, paid greeting visits to the VNA.

Established in 1945, the VNA has played a significant part in the national construction and development course. The agency has been honoured with the titles of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, and Labour Hero of Reform Era.-VNA
