A seminar was held in the central province of Quang Binh on July 22 as part of a “Learning Route” programme to discuss ways to increase market linkages and promote sustainable business models for farmers.
The seminar, co-hosted by the Decentralised Programme for Rural Poverty Reduction in Quang Binh (DPRPR), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Procasur Organisation, drew the participation of representatives from eight provinces nationwide.
The “Learning Route” programme, held in Vietnam for the first time, is a continuous process of “training in the field” organised thematically around successful experiences on innovative rural and local development in which local actors themselves become trainers.
Through workshops, group works, case studies, interviews, conversations and other activities in the field, the Learning Route generates a space for individual and collective learning for visitors and hosts.
It creates forums for participants to share experiences and learn from each other through a string of activities, including seminars, visits, model evaluations and field trips.
In addition to attending the seminar, participants will also visit successful local agricultural and craft industry models in Quang Binh and its neighbouring Ha Tinh province.
The programme will conclude on July 24.-VNA
