Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The Leather Summit 2023 will be held at thefamous Craft Village Cluster in Phu Yen commune and Thon That Craft Village,Minh Duc commune, Hanoi on March 1.

The summit aims to improve the competitiveness of local craft villages andpromote the development of the leather and footwear industry in Vietnam ingeneral.

Although the total export turnover of the industry reached about 27 billion USDlast year, foreign enterprises still account for over 80% of the revenuecompared to Vietnamese enterprises, said PhamQuang Vu Anh from the Vietnam Genus Leather Joint Stock Company, who is founding member of the Leather Summit.

Improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises was very important tomeet export standards and gain a firm foothold in the home field, he said.

Leather Summit 2023 draws the participation of experts in leather materialsfrom Italy and features more than 250 high-class leather samples. Therefore,craft village production facilities will have chances to expand theirconnection with manufacturers, access to good sources of materials and seekbusiness opportunities./.

Petrol, diesel prices fall in June 4 adjustment

The price of E5 RON92 biofuel is capped at 21,784 VND (0.83 USD) per litre, down 1,474 VND from the previous maximum price while that of 0.05S diesel is set at no more than 26,866 VND per litre, a decrease of 785 VND.
