Legislative leader meets Russian President

Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on September 11 morning, concluding his successful official visit to Russia, where he also co-chaired the third meeting of the Vietnam - Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

With 30 official and side activities, the visit was a success, achieving its goals.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of legislative cooperation in Vietnam-Russia relations, highlighting the roles of the Friendship Parliamentary Group and the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

Earlier on Sept. 10, the National Assembly Chairman had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

The Vietnamese legislative leader informed the President about the outcomes of his visit and discussed the content of the cooperation between the two countries and two parliaments in the time ahead.

President Putin offered sympathy to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for the heavy losses in both human lives and assets caused by Typhoon Yagi.

He appreciated the significance and outcomes of the Vietnamese legislative leader’s visit, and suggested the two countries’ legislative bodies continue enhancing their cooperation, contributing to promoting the Russia-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership in a pragmatic and effective manner./.
